Olive Oil as a Cleanser
Hi Girls
I didn't know that you could use Olive Oil as a cleanser if you put lavender and tea tree oil in it, I was reading one fo the other threads and seen this. Will this affect acne prone skin

Olive oil can be a bit heavy on the face but yes, it is a good cleanser. You can mix it with a little bit of jojoba oil. I would advise you to use only a small amount of Lavender and Tea Tree essential oils if you decide to add it to your cleanser.

I add lavender and it is fine. Has cleared up my skin brilliantly. You can also put a dab of lavender neat onto spots.
I put one drop into the plam of my hand with the olive oil.

I would never recommend using essential oils (EO) "neat". Both Lavender and Tea Tree eo have been found to contain allergens which can cause an allergic reaction.
Lavender: Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool
Tea Tree: Limonene
These will be present in a cleanser at .001% hence my advice.

Lavender and Tea Tree are the only two essensial oils you can use neat on the skin. Others can cause burning etc.
Tea Tree oil is used in Austrialian hospitals,you must use the one with latin name under the name Tea Tree. Alafo something. Lavender has been used to treat cuts burns etc for years too.
I attended a few aromatherapy classes,and those two were the only ones recommended by the teacher.
